VNC2Me Beta Released 3 years, 8 months ago #22

How is this beta using a server. Must it use a server You provide or must I set up an ultravnc-repeater myself. On what ports must a repeater listen? Do it need a ssh-server too?

sorry, i can see how that could be confusing

the beta needs a ssh server setup.
no repeater is needed to be setup
you need to put the hostname, port, username & password for your ssh account into the ini file (found in each current distrobution) or enter them manually each time you launch the app.

current release is for testing only, and therefore doesn't contain the files needed to "roll-your-own", but rather comes in a "ready-to-roll" or "pre-rolled" package which is harder to customise for distrobution to your clients

documentation is still being created, but i hope this helps you on your way

Firstly, which ini file? Can't find one under \program files\VNC2Me.
Do you need UltraVNC to be installed or can you use any other VNC spin-off? Or do you need to ensure none of those are installed?

AH ... it appears that the INI was missed in the installer version ... i will have to update that when time permits.

to get around this, download the INI from the downloads section and save it into the %programfiles%/vnc2me directory. then change setting in there to see the changes reflected in the GUI.

thats why this is still in beta, to get these sort of problems ironed out prior to release
