Secure Open Free Remote Support solutions
Preparing for the first beta release
Today it was confirmed that VNC2Me alpha works properly with vista, including disabling aero in vista...
AWESOME
although it was good news that the vista compatibility works well, i also had some bad news as far as hosting. It appears (confirmed via email from support) using dreamhost's shared servers as the "CORE" ssh server is not allowed, as SSH tunneling is against the rules.
it appears that if i purchase a VPS, then i will be able to use that as my host, some investigation is needed to be sure this is going to be what is needed (and that it (VNC2Me) will be used).
VNC2Me - Updates for Vista and multi-language
VNC2Me now has vista support, has improved (minimalistic) GUI, reads all main GUI text from INI file (for easy translation). and a bit more.
Work has recently started on getting a port for linux and MAC OSX (using qt). Most of the work for those two platforms will be in regards to a tech support style role, rather then a client style role (although it WILL be possible to use them as such, but the client will require qt libraries installed ... which usually are already)
Vista Compatability
i have just finished adding functionality for improving vista performance, and would love to get this tested on a few vista versions.
code is avaiable on the svn
Secure VNC Viewer (.NET)
I recently found an interesting open-source project that could (with fairly minor changes) be transformed into a viewer (or even whole package) for VNC2Me ...
